Since 2004 for this client, Welocalize has translated over 69 millions words in 30 languages for a variety of marketing content types: website content, sales materials for new services, knowledgebase content, SKU/retail information, proposal material, product manuals, training content and search engine optimization.

Together with the client, we’ve instituted two tracks for marketing translation. The first is a highly centralized approach aimed to eliminate on-the-fly campaigns, accommodate the increase in volume and languages, centralize the budget around a metrics-based process, cut translation expenses by 30% through language reuse and increase consistency of message worldwide.

For low-impact or technical content including launch pages, product brochures and new services, Welocalize adapts the content to be suitable for the target market without deviating from the source global message. This involves using core translation teams familiar with client-specific content, extensive use of reference materials, and ongoing communication with both global and local client stakeholders and third party reviewers.

The second track involves customization and copywriting of high-impact branding for in-country sales and promotion. This includes print ads, website banners and mail shots. Welocalize uses specialized translators who are skilled in understanding the client's messaging, perform on-going field research on published material, and fully adapt or alter the content for the target market. Often thought as a slow and deliberate process, Welocalize has introduced a functional and affordable copywriting process where we liaise directly with the client in-country offices to fully adapt the promotional content, sometimes in a matter of 24 hours! This has led to a spike in volume and regional sales for our client.

Welocalize has developed a long-term partnership with this client that brings economic and strategic value. This includes engineering a pricing model that meets high-volume needs, surpassing the target quality level of 99.5% across multiple, consecutive quarters, and achieving a burst of 3.2 million words translated during a 4-week period. Above all, Welocalize has implemented a Business Intelligence (BI) layer through InSight that enables the client to view data around cost, volume, duration and unit throughputs for all languages and products.
