Since 2006, Welocalize has translated over 25 million words of user assistance materials for our client. In a single year for seven of their devices, Welocalize converted over 63,000 pages of documentation, including 5,000 screenshots, and more than 12,000 graphics into 23 language versions.

Welocalize builds stringent quality checks into the entire content lifecycle. In line with our Quality @ Source practices, Welocalize instituted a standardized process for the preparation of English source files across our client’s entire product documentation suite. Through careful up-front preparation for translation of the source documentation, Welocalize enabled the client to provide a unified hand-off across a wide range of the client’s own translation provider: a pool of resources from in-house linguists to small SLVs. This vendor-agnostic process for file preparation resulted in a consistent deliverable across all languages back into the DTP phase, and achieved consistency in asset management bringing greater leverage across the whole language set, thereby enabling predictable cost savings across all markets.

Welocalize is tightly integrated in the client’s business processes. Welocalize has a proven track record in mastering the client’s technology and processes. Recently our client launched a proprietary XML-based Content Management System (CMS) for outputting InDesign documentation. The tool helped eliminate duplicated work, unify the workflow processes, and improve localizability through Unicode compatibility. With no upfront training, just the supplied user documentation, Welocalize ramped up in a matter of weeks, just in time to tackle a major release and deliver successfully.

In addition to technology ramp-up during release cycles, Welocalize can scale quickly and adapt to sudden increases in volume. In an emergency overflow situation where our client encountered an unexpected resource peak, Welocalize leveraged our Hybrid Delivery ModelSM to support our client's high-volume multi-language and multi-manual project. With over 90% of our production for this client set up in our offices in China, Welocalize mobilized our teams at short notice – in one case, delivering several hundred graphics in four languages in just 24 hours! Ongoing deployment of our team in China also results in lower documentation engineering and screenshooting rates for our client. We are thus able to deliver a higher volume of work within a shorter timeframe and at reduced rates.
